Drunk driving arrest in Point Edward

At 7 p.m. on June 3, a member of RCMP Cape Breton Traffic Services was driving west on Hwy. 125 in Point Edward when he noticed a vehicle driving in the wrong direction. The vehicle was heading eastbound in the westbound lane. The driver of the vehicle was stopped and further investigation resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old man from Whycocomagh.

Todd Malcolm Charles Miller was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Refusing a Breath Sample, Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle and Taking a Motor Vehicle without Consent. He was also charged with Theft Under $5,000 by Cape Breton Regional Police Service, for driving away from a fuel pump in Sydney River without paying shortly before his arrest. Miller appeared in court on June 5 and was remanded. He appeared in Sydney Provincial Court yesterday and was released.
