A 58-year-old Sydney Mines woman was in Sydney Provincial Court yesterday, facing charges for two armed robberies Thursday afternoon.
Cape Breton Regional Police were called to a residence on King Street in Sydney Mines at approximately 2:00 PM, where a female resident reported another female had come to her door with a weapon, demanding money and then ran away towards Main Street. While on scene, police received reports of a second armed robbery at a business on Main Street. Within moments, police located a woman matching the suspect description running up King Street with a knife and quickly placed her under arrest.
