A Sydney Mines woman has been found guilty of stealing her father’s money and will be sentenced next month.
70 year old Ruth Gail Canzio took $96,000 from her 96 year old father’s safety deposit box in October of 2013. He has since died.
The judge found her guilty in a written decision yesterday after her trial last month, rejecting the defence claim that it was her brother who stole the money. She used the money for a Florida vacation.
Sentencing is set for June 27th.
