Budget – Liberals

The McNeil Government is promising a tax cut for about half the population in its balanced budget introduced yesterday.

Premier Stephen McNeil says restraint on public sector wages over the past year has permitted him to shift money back into taxpayers’ pockets.

People earning between $25,000 and $75,000 a year will see an average tax cut of $160.  There’ll be $8.5 million more for high speed internet in rural areas.  $6 million will be spent on more collaborative care centres.
