RCMP trial

An RCMP superintendent was the first to testify at the force’s trial on Canada Labour Code violations yesterday in Moncton.

Bruce Stuart is in charge of rapid response training for the force and helped develop its Immediate Action Rapid Deployment policy. Stuart told the court research shows carbines are superior to shotguns in active emergency response. He also testified research into the use of the rifles and body armour was shelved because of the controversy over the Tasering death of a man in Vancouver several years ago.
