Cape Breton Regional Police Service, with the assistance of Cape Breton Ground Search and Rescue, are currently searching a wooded area off Cossitt Heights Drive in Sydney, as part of a missing person investigation.
Police are looking for 59-year-old Debbie Ann Hutchinson of Sydney; she was reported missing on April 24th by family, who have not been able to make contact with her. She was last seen on April 14th.
Yesterday, investigation led officers to a burnt vehicle in Cossitt Heights, which they have confirmed belongs to Debbie. While there is nothing specific to indicate foul play at this point, police are trying to determine events leading up to the vehicle fire.
