Gary Crossman, who was born in Sussex and is now the MLA for Hampton, feels that students at Hampton High are at a disadvantage regarding their access to trades courses.
Crossman added that Hampton families have to drive their children to other schools for the trades courses they want or miss out.
Hampton High does have carpentry courses and introduction to electronics training, but mechanical or welding trade training isn’t offered.
SRHS, KVHS; and Belleisle Regional High have courses in carpentry, welding; mechanics, and electrical; and bays for students to work on cars in the shop.
