Police have charged a 40 year old Cape Breton man with first degree murder.
Richard Wayne McNeil was in court yesterday and remanded in custody for a week in connection with the death of his common-law partner.
He and 33 year old SaraBeth Ann Forbes lived together with their son on O’Brien Street where her body was found Tuesday.
She was a teacher at Tompkins Memorial Elementary where grief counsellors have been brought in to help students and staff deal.
