With the weather getting warmer and the sun staying out longer, it is time to celebrate our earth. ACAP Cape Breton is inviting the public to partake in events scheduled for Earth Week 2017.
The week will kick off with a screening of the film A Plastic Ocean on Monday, April 17. Drop by ACAP Cape Breton, 582 George Street, at 7:00pm to watch this incredible documentary and enjoy some popcorn. Admission is by donation.
Earth Day is Saturday April 22nd and teams from across the region are encouraged to register for the annual 20 Minute Makeover. Register your team from the office, community, school or friends to clean up an area that can use some TLC in only 20 minutes! Bags, gloves and stickers to mark your used garbage bags for pick up will be provided free of charge after registration.
Enjoy an afternoon with ACAP Cape Breton staff for the second annual Big Glace Bay Beach Clean-Up on Sunday, April 23rd from 1:00 to 3:00pm. Dress warmly and prepare to make a difference in the lives of endangered shorebirds that visit this beautiful beach.
