Halifax Police and Halifax District RCMP have released last month’s statistics for impaired driving in the HRM. During March, 74 drivers in the Halifax area were charged with impaired driving offenses. 46 were charged with impairment by alcohol, 8 were charged with impairment by drugs, and 20 were issued temporary suspensions for driving after consuming alcohol. Of the 46 charged with driving drunk, 42 were male and just four were female with ages ranging from 19 -to-63.
