Mounties are getting a raise…with some back pay.
The Treasury Board has approved a salary increase of 1.25% as of January 1, 2015 and another 1.25% as of January 1 last year. Many will also get another 2.3% market adjustment next month.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says the raises will bring the RCMP in line with 8 other police forces across canada who cover 90% of the population.
