The owner of a landmark downtown bar has sold it because he was losing over a million dollars.
Victor Syperek has sold the Economy Shoe Shop on Argyle because of the lengthy construction of the Nova Centre across the street. The city has also announced there’ll be no patios this spring and summer because they are changing the streetscape there and on other streets.
Syperek says he just couldn’t afford to take the losses anymore. Other business and restaurant owners in the areas are also threatening a lawsuit against the city for lost business.
