Common Council approved a growth plan for the city at its meeting yesterday, but released few details. We should know more later today.
The presentation just said there are six basic strategies which will be handled by a staffer hired to oversee its implementation.
The Roadmap for Smart Growth plan is designed to increase the city’s population, tax base, and create jobs. It was approved by a 7-2 vote with Councillors Greg Norton and Gary Sullivan opposed. They said lowering property tax and water rates should be part of the strategy.
