Accountant honoured for free tax work

Edgar Leger has helped low-income people fill out their tax forms for free for 46 years…thousands of them…but last year he put his pen and computer aside and retired as a volunteer with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program.

Yesterday, the Times and Transcript reports he was honoured at a tax clinic at UdeM by Kamal Khera, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Revenue. He was presented with a certificate recognizing his volunteer work and calling him a model citizen.
