Classroom committee meets for first time

The council set up to improve classroom conditions held its first meeting yesterday.

Teachers appointed by school boards got together with the government’s appointees, including a student representative, to begin talking about options to improve classroom conditions. They’ll meet again today and tomorrow to talk about recommendations to the government with the initial ones due by April 28th.

The government pledged to spend $20 million over two years to improve classroom conditions as part of the contract imposed on teachers.
