A former local man has been sentenced for years-old charges. 34-year-old Joel Martel was charged with impaired driving after a June 2013 incident in Kedgwick. He was then charged with failing to appear in court in May 2014. The now Montreal resident has pleaded guilty to both, and got fines totalling $1690 and a year’s driving ban.
