Jacob Sampson of Kings County and his new play Chasing Champions: the Sam Langford Story, scored big time in the Merritt Award nominations.
The Kings County Record says was nominated for outstanding actor and his play was nominated for outstanding new Nova Scotian play.
Wolfville’s Valley Summer Theatre got one nomination for its production of Goodnight Desdemona Good Morning Julie, Andrea Norwood was nominated as outstanding female actor.
Two Planks and a Passion Theatre of Canning got eight nominations, including best production, for its WWII era production Liberation Days.
Katherine Jenkins-Ryan of Wolfville was nominated for outstanding scenic design for two productions she worked on: How Far Away by Zuppa Theatre and The Drowning Girls for DMV Theatre.
The winners will be announced at the Robert Merritt Awards gala on Monday, March 27 at Casino Nova Scotia.
