Common Council receuived a petition at yesterday’s meeting from 200 people who want the esacalators fixed at Market Square, according to the Telegraph-Journal.
The residents are frustrated about the broken down escalators saying it’s interfering with the flow of citizens to their homes. Patrons have trouble getting to local businesses…and it’s unacceptable for people with accessibility issues.
A staff report says the escalators at the Saint Patrick pedway and in Market Square have surpassed their expected useful life. New steps have been ordered and hey are hoping to have those steps moving again by Monday.
