Windsor town council is considering some changes so it can deal with derelict properties, according to the Hants Journal.
Currently, the town issues a violation notice for a derelict or unsightly property. Now it’ll be giving the property owner a chance to fix it before it sends the notice. If it doesn’t hear from the owners within 30 days then the notice will go out.
If the owner doesn’t do repairs, they could be fined as much as $10,000. CAO Louis Coutinho says the good news is that over 90% property owners are compliant, so the process does work.
