Cape Breton fentanyl concerns

Police are now being trained on the use of naloxone kits to counter opioid  drug overdoses.

This is because of the anticipated impact of fentanyl in Cape Breton.  There’s been one death on the Island linked to the drug.

Police are being outfitted with the nasal spray kits not only to save the lives of users but for their own protection.  Experts say just a couple of milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal which means officers could come in contact with airborne particles in dealing with users.
