More refugees coming to Canada

Ottawa will be resettling 1,200 of the world’s most vulnerable refugees.

The Yazidis are a minority ethnic group targeted by terrorists in northern Iraq and elsewhere.  About 400 asylum seekers, most of them Yazidis, have arrived in recent months.

Conservative M-P Michelle Rempel applauded the government’s move to help resettle them in Canada, but said it’s only one small piece of a broader puzzle to save the Yazidis from annihilation.
