A bus service that would link Saint John, St.Stephen and communities in between won’t being going ahead without funding from Ottawa.
The Southwest New Brunswick Transit Authority told CBC that despite a commitment from the province, the proposed bus service needs funding from Ottawa as well to be viable. While the Feds currently don’t have specific funding aimed at rural transit, the transit authority is still hopeful Ottawa could support the bus service as a pilot project.
The proposal would see twice daily round trips from Saint John to St. Stephen with stops along the way at Lepreau, Pennfield, St.George and St. Andrews.
