The three levels of government have come up with over $1.5 million to save the Miners Museum in Glace Bay.
Premier Stephen McNeil at the funding announcement said the museum honours the hard work and history of the province’s coal miners.
The museum has been suffering in recent years because of a lot of leaks. This money will go towards a new roof, doors, windows, brick walls and ventilation systems and energy upgrades. There will also be a planning study for interactive and interior spaces, including enhanced electronic displays.
