Miners Foundation, Community Commons Society get funding

Funding for two community infrastructure projects in Glace Bay.

The Cape Breton Miners Foundation, the group responsible for overseeing the popular Miners Museum, is receiving a $537,500 non-repayable investment through the ACOA’s Innovative Communities Fund. The Province of Nova Scotia, through Communities, Culture and Heritage, is contributing an additional $537,500 to the project, while the Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM) is contributing $487,500.

Additionally, a $100,500 contribution is being provided through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program to the Glace Bay Community Commons Society. The Province of Nova Scotia, through Communities, Culture and Heritage, is also providing a $100,000 investment. Additional support includes a $100,000 contribution from the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and $40,000 generated through fundraising efforts by the Glace Bay Community Commons Society.
