Energy East review to resume soon

There are calls for the Energy East pipeline review process to start from scratch, now that three new members have been appointed to the review panel.

An environmental group has filed a notice of motion with the National Energy Board, arguing that all decisions made by the previous panel were tainted because of a potential conflict of interest.

Don Ferguson, a former senior provincial civil servant, is one of the new members appointed, along with former S-N-C Lavalin vice-president Carole Malo and Quebec-based lawyer Marc Paquin. Hearings are expected to begin shortly.
