A small tanker ran aground in Cape Breton yesterday. The Arca 1 lost engine power and hit the shore at Little Pond in Sydney Mines.
It was empty and en route to Mexico. There were only six crewmembers aboard who were airlifted to safety by helicopter…with a crowd gathering on the shore to watch the dramatic rescue. Nobody was hurt.
The Coast Guard is monitoring the ship and ays there are no signs of any pollution.
