A funeral will be held this week for Lionel Desmond and his mother.
Services will be held Wednesday at an Antigonish funeral home for Desmond and his mother Brenda. There’s no word on funerals for his wife Shanna and daughter Aaliyah.
Ottawa has confirmed the government will pay for the services for all four family members after initially saying only Lionel Desmond was covered. Then the Prime Minister got involved and the bureaucrats changed their mind.
