Government issues advisory on E-R visits during holidays

The government is urging people to consider alternatives to emergency rooms over the holidays.

It says most pharmacies and doctors’ offices are on reduced hours or closed through the holidays. That causes more people to go to E-Rs looking for relief. The province say that can tie up health-care resources.

It says people should try to see their doctor before the weekend if they have developing health-care needs, use on-call services or go to a walk-in clinic.
