Two NS Hospitals Damaged by Pipe Bursts and Flooding (Update)

Flooding from frozen pipes damaged a pair of hospitals in the province on Saturday. A pipe burst in Building B of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital early Saturday caused extensive damage. The area affected houses everything from the cafeteria to diagnostic imaging – and forced the relocation of some patients in the hospital’s mental health unit. Another pipe burst affected Queens General Hospital in Liverpool around 4pm on Saturday, flooding a wing that houses rehabilitation services. The Liverpool hospital is still trying to determine if rehab appointments for Monday will have to be rescheduled; while the Yarmouth hospital will make a decision later today on what to do with services offered in flood damaged areas of the building. The ER’s at both hospitals remain open.
