Canada’s DFO disagrees with Amnesty International

Canada has come under fire from Amnesty International which claims we’re falling short on a number of human rights issues, including indigenous rights.

The group says while some progress has been made in the last year, Canada has stumbled in a number of areas.

It cited Ottawa’s approval of a dam in B.C. without indigenous consent.

However, the D-F-O points out that there were extensive First Nations consultations.
