There’ll be a two cent increase in the property tax rate for the city of Dieppe. Council passed the budget at last night’s meeting saying the increase on the average home in Dieppe, valued at $185,000, will be about $37 a year.
Mayor Yvon Lapierre told the Times and Transcript the increase will help pay for some major projects in the coming years, including replacement of the Centennial Arena, the new Codiac Regional RCMP building, the Jeux de la Francophonie 2021 and improvements to roads.
Water and sewer bills will also rise in the coming year to $916 from $900.
