HMCS Fredericton Returns to Halifax after First Canadian Visit to Cuba in Half a Century

The HMCS Fredericton returned to Halifax on Friday after a two month deployment that saw the Frigate become the first Canadian warship to visit Cuba in over half-a-century. The Fredericton stopped in Havana along with port calls in Mexico and Columbia over the past several weeks. It had previously taken part in joint anti submarine exercises with the US navy. It’s visit to Havana was the first time the Canadian Navy had sailed in Cuban waters in over 50 years.
