Halifax Transit has announced the launch of automated stop announcements on select bus routes starting next week, as the next phase of the $43-million transit technology plan implementation.
Beginning on Monday, automated stop announcements will be introduced on a group of 13 bus routes that operate across the municipality. Automated stop announcements will allow riders to know exactly where they are in their commute and when they are approaching their desired stop.
Audio and visual stop announcements will be delivered through interior and exterior speakers, as well as on-board display screens.
