Schools will be open for students today as Education Minister Karen Casey reversed herself.
She said she only received assurances on student safety from the union yesterday morning.
NSTU President Liette Doucet says she sent those assurances Friday.
Casey also cancelled the bill which would have imposed a contract on the teachers.
That prompted the opposition to call for Casey’s resignation for the way this whole mess has been handled.
Casey laughed that off to reporters, saying she had no intention of resigning.
