Moncton city workers are looking at the raises city councillors gave themselves with an eye to future contract talks.
Their current contract doesn’t expire until the end of 2018…but the negotiations for over 200 city workers, represented by the City Hall Employees Association will begin next month with initial positions tabled.
Negotiator Larry Gagnon told the Times and Transcript the union certainly isn’t looking for the 35% raise councillors voted for themselves or the 20% for the mayor. But he says they will look to see if any part of it is applicable to the workers.
