Homicide rate

New Brunswick had the highest murder rate of the Atlantic provinces last year, according to figures released yesterday by Statistics Canada.

The 2015 homicide rate in the province was 1.46 per 100,000 population. All four atlantic provinces were below the national rate.

Saint John had a homicide rate of 2.36 homicides per 100,000 people. Moncton’s was 1.28.
