Halifax Christmas Tree Lighting this weekend

Mayor Mike Savage and members of Regional Council are inviting residents to kick-off the holiday season by attending this weekend’s Halifax Christmas Tree Lighting. This free, family-friendly event will include the lighting of the tree, fireworks, a visit from Santa Claus, and entertainment by the Tyler Key Band and Octonauts.

When: Saturday, Nov. 26, 6 – 7 p.m.

Where: Grand Parade Square, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax

This year, the Halifax Christmas Tree will be decorated in red and white – Canada’s official colours – in honour of the upcoming 150th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada. FEED Nova Scotia will also be on-site to accept non-perishable food or cash donations for those in need this holiday season.
