Class-action lawsuit claims sexual discrimination and harassment in military

A proposed class-action lawsuit against the Canadian military claims systemic gender and sexual discrimination.

In her statement of claim filed in federal court in Halifax yesterday, Glynis Rogers says she joined the armed forces in 2006 and was subject to persistent and systemic gender and sexual discrimination, bullying and harassment by male members, particularly during training. She says female members were called names and treated as being weaker and inferior to male members. She says the Canadian Forces is rife with sexual misconduct and harassment of women.
