UdeM prof gets money for Alzheimer’s research

A Universite de Moncton professor is getting a $225,000 grant to research Alzheimer’s disease.

Étienne Hébert Chatelain, in the biology department, has been studying how mitochondria figures in the onset and development of Alzheimer’s.
Many neurological diseases are associated with defects in Mitochondrial functions. Chatelain is getting funding from the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, the Brain Canada Foundation and the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation to continue his work.
