Rap artist charged with murder

A rap artist who recently penned an anti-violence song about the shooting deaths of several young black men in the spring, has now been charged with second degree murder.

21 year old Carvel Clayton, known as Certified, is charged in the death of 21 year old Shakur Jefferies, who was found dead outside Clayton’s Washmill Lake Drive apartment building Saturday. Police say the two know each other.

Several spectators tried to jump Clayton as he was being led out of the courtroom by sheriff’s. They and police quickly restored order and that matter is under investigation with charges possible.
