A First Nation on Vancouver Island has settled a land claim with the federal government for 32 hectares of downtown Nanaimo.
The community of 848 voted 98% in favour of the settlement worth $50 million which will go into a fund to create economic opportunities.
The band will also get a replacement parcel of land.
