People in Parrsboro will see an increase when their next water bill arrives.
The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board has OK’d a rate hike of 10.8 per cent for the current year, six per cent next year; and 7.6 per cent the following year.
The Parrsboro water utility had 649 dollars more in expenses than it did revenues for the year ending March 31, 2016; and projected its 305 thousand dollar surplus to be cut to 22 thousand by the end of 2018/19 under the old rates.
