There’s been a spike in suicides in the greater Moncton area which is concerning to a retired psychologist.
The coroner’s office says 40 people died from suicide in this region last year. There were only 22 deaths a year earlier
Albert Cyr is chair of the mental health community advisory committee for Vitalité Health Network. Cyr told CBC this spike in suicides needs to be investigated asking if there’s a problem with people accessing services. Is there anything they’re not doing or should be doing?
