The Ally Centre of Cape Breton will be getting some federal money so it will stay open to help prevent the spread of HIV and other blood-borne pathogens.
The centre was notified early last month $151,000 in core funding by Ottawa wouldn’t be renewed. But Sydney-Victoria MP Mark Eyking announced he talked to Trudeau and Health Minister Jane Philpot to stress the importance of the centre. He told the Cape Breton Post he’ll continue fighting to make sure money keeps coming from Ottawa in 2018.
