It’ll be sometime before they have that washout on Route 114 to Fundy National Park and Hopewell Rocks fixed.
The Times and Transcript reports barricades have been erected to stop motorists and pedestrians from venturing too close because that section of road at Stoney Creek remains too unstable for even work crews to work on it.
The Transportation Department says water continues to build up on the upstream side of the washout. They were planning to replace the culvert that failed this spring…but now engineers have to reassess the situation once they can get close enough to do so.
