A public meeting on the potential of adding a second cruise ship berth in Sydney will be held this afternoon. A recent report by a consultant found a second cruise ship birth would create more tourism traffic but also cautioned that such a project could be hit with cost overruns. The Cape Breton Municipality has already committed to paying one third of the estimated cost of 20-million-dollars for the project and are asking Ottawa and the province to fund the rest. A public meeting on a potential second cruise ship berth will be held this afternoon at 2pm at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavillion.
