A new female limousine service catering to female passengers at the airport is generating some controversy.
Longtime airport driver Crissy McDow told CBC she started Lady Drive-Her last week because some female passengers feel more comfortable with a female driver. She started the service after a taxi driver was acquitted of sexually assaulting a drunk passenger.
Some male limo drivers have expressed concern the new service is discriminatory and exploits fear among some women. McDow says she’s just meeting a need and expanding her business.
