Repairs to the Miners Museum in Glace Bay have been going well, and they’re getting ready to reopen next weekend.
Volunteer co-ordinator Wayne MacDonald told the Cape Breton Post they need volunteers to guide the tours and explain the exhibits to visitors in the company store and company house. They have about 17 now, including some whose parents lived through the violent miners’ strike, and they need 40-50 to work the two to three hour shifts.
Anyone who’d like to sign up or would like more information can call Wayne MacDonald at the museum at 902-849-8195.
