All the rain for the last week has residents on edge reliving Thanksgiving.
Water is rushing down creeks and streams and some people’s sump pumps are going all out to keep the water out of basements.
Mayor Cecil Clarke told the CBC the municipality is on high alert. He pointed out the water is draining more quickly this time because of the remedial work done since the Thanksgiving flood.
Meanwhile, the Cabot Trail has reopened a section northwest of Baddeck after repairs to a washed out shoulder. It’ll take longer to repair washouts on West Side Middle River Road and a rural road in Evanston.
