Prime Minister Trudeau has given new French President Emmanuel Macron his congratulations after his election win yesterdfay.
French voters chose Macron, a pro-EU former investment banker whi is described as a centrist over extreme right opponent Marine Pen, who ran on a French-first platform and was soundly defeated.
